What is a Panhard bar?

Named after the company that invented it, Panhard & Levassor, a Panhard bar is a metal rod that is fixed at the top to a suspension point (or to a support welded to the chassis) and at the bottom to the rigid axle of your 4x4. It guides the axle laterally, preventing it from shifting to the right or left when under stress.

Why fit adjustable Panhard bars?

Adjustable Panhard bars are crucial to maintaining the lateral alignment of your 4x4's axle, especially if you have fitted a suspension booster kit. By adjusting the length of the Panhard bar, you can fine-tune the axle position, improving steering response and reducing cornering roll. This is particularly important after changing the suspension height, as it can shift the axle, creating an unbalanced ride. Adjustable Panhard bars therefore help to restore balance, ensuring better handling and greater safety.

Investing in an adjustable Panhard bar is a wise choice for those who want the best possible control of their 4x4 after fitting a suspension upgrade.

We offer Equip'addict or Tough Dog adjustable Panhard bars.
